Jessica Bowman serves as PBPC’s Executive Director, where she leads the organization’s efforts in advocating for the expanded use of renewable, plant-based materials to help guide the global economy toward a circular model. Jessica collaborates with PBPC members, which include early-phase startups and Fortune 500 companies, on their sustainability efforts, legislative priorities, and awareness initiatives. As an engineer and attorney, Jessica plays a unique role in bridging the gap between today’s biobased innovations and policies that encourage their broader adoption, including legislation that supports more robust end-of-life infrastructure such as composting and recycling.

Senior Director of Sustainability, Conagra Brands, Inc.

Katya Hantel is the Senior Director of Sustainability for Conagra Brands, a Fortune 500 CPG food company integrating sustainability across its portfolio of frozen food, snacks, and grocery brands. Katya has spent 20 years developing sustainable business strategies and communications for global organizations in the for- and non-profit sectors. Katya holds a master’s degree in environmental management from Duke University, and an undergraduate degree in environmental policy from Washington University in St. Louis.

Senior Director Sustainability, PepsiCo Foods North America

Rachael Lawrence serves as Senior Director Sustainability for PepsiCo Foods North America. Having been with PepsiCo for 15 years, Rachael’s current role is focused on providing the strategic leadership and oversight required to scale sustainable packaging to meet the brand’s PEP + goals. Prior to PepsiCo, Rachael held various marketing roles in the sustainability space, including at Cheetos, Fritos, Shopper Marketing, and Stacy’s.

Eric Klingenberg

Materials Science Lead, Mars, Inc.

Eric Klingenberg is the Materials Science Lead for Mars, Inc., an American multinational manufacturer with a diverse and expanding portfolio of confectionery, food, and petcare products and services. With over 25 years of experience in the development, scale-up, and commercialization of new materials, Eric’s current projects within the Mars Advanced Research Institute (MARI) include research and development in sustainable bio-based compostable packaging. Eric also serves as a technical expert on the US Plastic Pact Compostable sub-team and is a technical advisor for the Center for Hierarchical Materials Design, a consortium of national labs and universities developing and expanding the use of data and computation tools to accelerate advanced materials design.
