Tell Lawmakers: Support the Bioproducts Industry!
The House Agriculture Committee recently took a major step forward for America’s growing ag bioeconomy, advancing a Farm Bill that will strengthen incentives for biobased product innovation and support new markets for American farmers.
The Committee’s bill, the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 includes critical language from the Biomanufacturing and Jobs Act and Agricultural Biorefinery Innovation, and Opportunity (Ag BIO) Act, PBPC-supported legislation that will modernize the BioPreferred Program and clarify federal definitions for biobased products. PBPC support’s the bill, which advanced through the House Ag Committee with a bipartisan vote, because it will:
- Reinforce federal support for plant-based innovation
- Provide greater market certainty for U.S. manufacturers
- Strengthen new markets for American farmers
- Promote rural economic development through good-paying biomanufacturing jobs
But the fight isn’t over yet. For this critical support to be unlocked, the full House of Representatives and the Senate must still pass the Farm Bill. Your continued advocacy is essential to ensure strong support for the BioPreferred Program and the ag bioeconomy remains in the final legislation.
Now is the time to remind your lawmakers that America’s farmers, manufacturers, and rural communities are counting on them to get this done.
Tell Congress to pass a Farm Bill that supports the bioeconomy.
Together, we’re building a more competitive, resilient future rooted in American agriculture and innovation.
