Plant Based Products Council Announces New Speakers for National Conference in Omaha

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Plant Based Products Council (PBPC) announced new speakers for PBPC 2024: Circular Solutions, which will take place Apr. 8-10 in Omaha, NE.

Betsy Dirksen Londrigan Administrator, Rural Business Cooperative Service

Betsy Dirksen Londrigan, Administrator of the Department of Agriculture’s Rural Business-Cooperative Service, joins PBPC 2024 as the keynote speaker for the lunch reception. She previously served as USDA’s Rural Development State Director for Illinois and has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working with community, regional, and state leaders to drive positive change. Her expertise and insights will help guide conference discussions around critical topics such as the USDA BioPreferred program, rural development, and more. 

Dr. Valerie Sarisky-Reed, Director of the Bioenergy Technologies Office within the Department of Energy (DOE), joins PBPC 2024 as a panelist along with other federal agency officials to discuss policies to support and foster innovation in biomanufacturing. In her role at DOE, she oversees efforts to improve performance, lower costs and accelerate market entry of bioenergy technologies. The Office manages a budget of approximately $280M annually, working with DOE’s national laboratories, academia, and industry to meet aggressive goals that will grow the US bioeconomy.
