PBPC Welcomes Government Funding Bill, Farm Bill Extension

December 21, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Plant Based Products Council Executive Director James Glueck released the following statement after President Joe Biden signed legislation to provide government funding and extend the 2018 Farm Bill.

“PBPC is grateful Congress has worked to avoid the harmful consequences of a government shutdown and the uncertainty of a farm bill expiration. However, failure to extend the farm bill’s orphan programs threatens the policy certainty the plant-based products industry needs from Washington.

“PBPC is committed to ensuring the future of the ag bioeconomy remains strong and encourages Congress to prioritize enactment of a bipartisan five-year farm bill in the new year. PBPC welcomes the opportunity to work with Congress to provide the certainty of a farm bill in the 119th Congress.”
