PBPC MEMBERS HIGHLIGHT SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS IN ANNUAL REPORTS

In recent comprehensive reports, PPBC members – EcoProducts, Cargill and Primient – are highlighting their work to advance sustainable solutions that will help grow the ag bioeconomy.

Cargill’s 2024 Annual Report touches on all aspects of the company’s business, including work “to support farmers as they adopt practices that enhance soil health and water quality, sequester carbon, and improve farm productivity,” Cargill President and CEO Brian Sikes noted in the report.

“There’s no question the future will present still more, complex challenges,” Sikes added. “But with the right people, partnerships, and innovation, Cargill sees a future full of possibility.”

Eco-Products released its latest Impact Report, which highlighted the company’s continuous improvement mindset to achieve success on goals that have an environmental and societal impact.

Eco-Products President Ian Jacobson noted that the accomplishments he is “most proud of are direct responses to the contamination challenges that impede the adoption of an organics diversion system that collects and processes food waste and compostable products at scale.”

Premient’s latest Impact Report highlights the company’s efforts to promote sustainability at every step of the value chain and realize the potential of the bioeconomy.

“We have set our sights on being the most committed, most reliable, and most sustainable supplier in our industry and I am proud to lead us forward as we renew, modernize, and grow towards a brighter, more sustainable, plant-based future,” Primient Chief Executive Officer Jim Stutelberg said in a statement.

BOWEN PRESENTS TO OHIO SOYBEAN COUNCIL

This week, PBPC Senior Vice President Robin Bowen joined agriculture industry leaders and policy experts at a meeting hosted by the Ohio Soybean Council. Bowen represented PBPC and the Ag Bioeconomy Coalition in conversations discussing the biggest issues facing the agricultural economy, and the importance of plant-based products in advancing circularity.

PBPC is proud to continue our efforts to collaborate with leaders across the ag bioeconomy value chain, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these essential conversations among experts in the industry.

BIO INNOVATIONS MIDWEST

Have you signed up for Bio Innovations Midwest? PBPC is a proud partner of this event.

The conference, scheduled for Sept. 24-25 in Omaha, is “dedicated to driving the exciting growth of industrial biomanufacturing in the U.S.” PBPC Executive Director James Glueck is hosting a session on addressing adoption challenges and scaling biobased materials to meet the performance and environmental expectations of consumers and industry alike.

Several PBPC members will be presenting as well, including ADM, Cargill, Iowa Corn Promotion Board, and Gevo! View the agenda for the event here.

TELL LAWMAKERS: SUPPORT JOB GROWTH IN THE FARM BILL & SUPPORT AG-BASED BIOMANUFACTURING

Help PBPC send a message to lawmakers that the U.S. has the farmers and innovators and now we need the policies. Support for the ag-based bioproducts industry is crucial to the U.S. economy, environmental sustainability, and American innovation.

Two bipartisan bills that can help grow the U.S. ag bioeconomy have already been introduced in Congress:

Send a letter to your lawmakers today and urge them to include the Biomanufacturing and Jobs Act, nationally uniform bioeconomy terminology, and the Ag BIO Act in the Farm Bill!
