PBPC Encourages Government Funding Resolution

Oct. 1, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Plant Based Products Council Executive Director James Glueck released the following statement on the government shutdown that began today.

“The ag bioeconomy is poised to be a major driver of growth for rural economies, but that growth will be hampered without strong certainty from the federal government. We urge government leaders to act quickly to end this shutdown. Once a continuing resolution is in place, Congress can turn its attention back to other legislation — like passing a new Farm Bill — which is necessary to restore the critical functions of USDA’s BioPreferred Program and other vital services for the U.S. ag bioeconomy.”
