PBPC Celebrates Rep. Craig’s Position as Top Democrat on House Ag Committee

December 18, 2024

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Plant Based Products Council Executive Director James Glueck released the following statement after the affirmative vote of the House Democratic Caucus to name Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) the top Democrat on the House Agriculture Committee.

“PBPC is glad to see one of the top champions of the American ag bioeconomy in Congress elected to a House Ag Committee leadership role. Rep. Craig has worked in a bipartisan fashion to ensure the future of plant-based products is in the U.S., not overseas. We are excited to work with her in a new capacity to secure a strong and stable future for this growing domestic manufacturing sector.”

Craig is a key supporter of both the Biomanufacturing and Jobs Act and the Agricultural Biorefinery Improvement and Opportunity Act, two pieces of legislation that would bolster innovation and improve the American ag bioeconomy. She joined a PBPC Speaker Series event earlier this year to discuss her involvement in both pieces of legislation and promote their inclusion in a five-year farm bill.
