Plant Based Products Council Reacts to Introduction of the Ag BIO Act

October 27, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, PBPC Executive Director James Glueck made the following statement regarding the introduction of the Agricultural Biorefinery Innovation and Opportunity (Ag BIO) Act:

“The Biorefinery, Renewable Chemical, and Biobased Product Manufacturing Assistance Program is a valuable tool in our advanced bioproducts arsenal. Senators Klobuchar and Moran’s introduction of the Ag BIO Act will strengthen the program which will, in turn, help the U.S. develop new and emerging technologies by allowing for more efficient development and advancement of U.S. biobased products.”

The Ag BIO Act would provide loan guarantees and grants to assist with the needed development, construction, and retrofitting of pilot, demonstration, and commercial scale biorefineries to develop and produce advanced biofuels, renewable chemicals, and biobased products.
