Bamblu Palm Leaf Plates

Bamblu is proud to be among the first to bring compostable, disposable palm leaf dinnerware to the United States. The ingredients of one Bamblu plate is ONE areca palm leaf and nothing else. They can hold liquids, hot or cold food. Palm leaf does not conduct heat and is comfortable to hold, microwave and oven safe up to 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Toss with food waste or home compost – just like a leaf in your yard! They naturally compost within 90 days. The process of making Bamblu palm leaf plates or bowls is 100% sustainable as only fallen leaves are used, no trees are cut down. They are 100% chemical free, made from a completely renewable resource. Areca palm leaves are 100% resourced from the forest floor of areca palm forests in India. The dry and fallen areca palm leaves are collected, pressure washed, scrubbed, sundried, and compressed. Finally, all are sterilized. Only water is used in the shaping and sterilizing process and nothing is added. Excess water is re-used for agriculture and leftover pieces of leaves are composted. One key to maintaining superior quality and consistency is by utilizing one source, one factory. Our factory in Southern India has ISO certification by India government and the product was tested by SGS, an independent world leading inspection service. Bamblu packaging is also eco-conscious. We tested the use of compostable PLA shrink wrap but it begins decomposing with exposure to the environment and continues shrinking, deforming the product. So Bamblu’s tableware is prepackaged in packs of 10 or 25 in polyolefin (POF) shrink film, an FDA-approved food-safe material made of 100% recyclable materials.
